OPEN POSITIONS
We are actively looking for curious, talented, motivated team members to perform research at all levels.
Current research projects involve working with genetic data generated from ancient skeletal remains and/or archaeological sediment samples to study the genetic makeup of ancient populations.
We have projects consisting of wet lab work, sequencing data analysis, or both.
All available positions are fully funded.
POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER
Project description:
The "Neolithic Revolution" from a genetic perspective: we will sequence ancient human genomes to study the genetic makeup of the last hunter-gatherers and of the first farmers in the southern Levant.
Position description:
The position will be fully-funded for a minimum period of two years. The project is open to start, and the position will remain open until filled. Depending on the interest of the chosen candidate, the project can include wet lab work, or can be solely computational.
Required qualifications:
- PhD in biology, archaeological sciences, genomics, computational sciences, or a related field
- Experience working with ancient DNA data

PHD STUDENTS
Available projects:
We have a variety of projects available across the range of research topics in the lab, including:
- The genetic makeup of pre-historic and proto-historic populations of the southern Levant, as retraced using ancient DNA recovered from skeletal remains and archaeological sediments;
- The development of wet lab and/or computational methods for the recovery and analysis of ancient DNA from sediments, and their application to a variety of ancient sites;
- Leveraging ancient DNA data to study evolutionary processes.
We also welcome discussions on your own project ideas!
Position description:
PhD positions are for a duration of four years, during which the student will receive a scholarship. Several starting dates are possible throughout the academic year (see details here).
